Triptych Template Kit~ This kit comes with 3 templates, 2 triptych and 1 A-2 envelope template.
A triptych is any 3 panels or 3 compartments side by side. Both triptychs measures 8 1/2" wide and approx. 5 1/4 to
5 1/2" high on the center panel. The triptychs have 2 styles of center panel, one with a rounded panel and the other with
a peaked panel and sides.
I used the triptych template shown above to create this little item you can use to put additional things
in and send to a friend. I took a brown paper bag and laid the template on top and traced around it, then I reversed
the template so the peak was at the bottom and let a little of it hang over the bottom straight part of the template
and traced around it. Later, you can fold this end up into the triptych and can hold papers, tickets, photos, etc.
Cut out your template. I traced the same thing around another piece of paper- can be lighter paper
like newsprint, old pages from books, etc. and glued to the inside. I used Claudine Hellmuth matte medium. After
I had the look I wanted inside, I took Tim Holtz Distress Inks and altered inside and out and added a few stamped images and
covered everything with matte medium again. I used a Celtic stencil with red paste for the door. Cut it on the
sides so the doors will actually open and put a hidden secret inside the doors. I used a 1" paper punch and cut out
some music paper for the outside and glued that onto the front, punched a small hole for cording and ran the cording through
so you can tie it shut.
I got this idea from a customer/turned friend, Annette Daniels. She recently sent me some of the wonderful
books she creates using Tim Holtz Distress Inks. She had a paper bag un-bag in the pack and tied up and when you opened
it, she had all kinds of vintage goodies inside. It was so much fun!! So this is my take on her un-bag.

Template Design #61~Now you might be asking why you would want or need this- easy- it will provide you a way to make
designs and cut outs on your work without the limitation of a punch. Say you have a book cover and you want a cool hexagon
cut out in the center- just reach for this template and place over the cover- draw the hexagon and then cut it out.
The easy way to cout out a shape is make a hole in the center of the paper or cover and then insert your scissors to cut out.
You can also use this as a mask over some collage sheets or photos you want to use in your work- you can see what area works
best for your project. This template measures 10 1/2" long and approx. 5 1/4" wide. It also has ruler on each
long side. You can insert it in a binder for easy storage. For a frame of reference- the center square measures
1 9/16" wide and high. It also comes with circles, triangle, hexagon, diamond, -I think they are called trapezoids and
one or 2 others I don't remember the name of- 12 shapes in all along with the compass- so you can create great half moon shapes.
