Wood bird house covered with Graphic 45 paper by Corrine

Altered wood bird house, back view, with Curtain Call paper

Side view of altered bird house- Curtain Call Paper

Corrines Altered Wood tool box

Wood Tool box I covered with Graphic 45 paper and other little odds and ends- and of course some of our brass charm gears to go with the steampunk look.

One day while I was playing with the Golden gels and mediums and brass stancils, I found a really cool way to use the Distress Crackle Paints.  I took a palette knife and scraped the paint from the brush inside the jar, I then spread it across my brass stencil--it was great!  It crackled so nice.  I like the brass stencils but haven't really used them alot but now...a really cool medium to use with them-they sky's the limit.   This was a stencil I bought at a rubber stamp convention and is a Dream Weaver's stencil.  Although you can't really tell from the picture, the birds are wondrfully crackled in black soot crackle paint.
The picture below also uses a Dream Weaver's Stencil.  I l-o-v-e the dragon, he is big and bold and very intricate.  I used the fired brick distress crackle paint on him and is so cool because he looks very dragony and scaly.  All he needs is a little gold stickles on his eyes.
So get out your brass stencils and look at them in a new way!

Scissor Id's by Corrine

I made this cutie from the Beauty in Beads book below by adapting one of the patterns to use the products I had on hand at home.  I was surprised she didn't take very long and I learned a new version of the peyote stitch-the two drop.  It's too bad it doesn't scan better to reveal the shine and movement of the delica beads.
I made this little beauty into a pin, but after that I realized she would be a really cool pen or pencil topper.  The circumference of the bottom of her beaded body will fit over many types of pens or pencils to guide you into your fantasy writing-perfect for a journal writing instrument!  You could adapt it to fit your special pen.

This butterfly was also hand beaded on cardstock.  The vibrant blue color is not portrayed well on this scan.  I finished these pieces with leather on the back and added a pin back with bail to use as a pin or on leather cording as a necklace.

This was a polymer clay face I had laying around and I glued it to some cardstock and started beading around it and then ended up with this crazy hat or hair-this was one of those surprise pieces- no particular design in my head- just ended up this way.
