ALL of the Distress Crackle Paints are on Sale and limited to stock on hand.

Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint - revolutionary one-step crackle process!  I am a low maintenance kind of girl and I like things quick, easy and simple.  I love the look of crackle but have never messed with it because of the 2 or 3 steps you had to go throug to achieve the look.  Now, a paint they made for me.

This paint will come in a 1.1 fl. oz jar with a convenient built in brush applicator lid (even one less step as you don't have to hunt for a paint brush to apply it....someone loves me!!).This is a unique one-step paint that cracks as it dries so you can add instant aging to cardstock, chipboard, paper mache, canvas and more.  The colors coordinate with the 24 Distress Inks and Distress Embossing Powders.

This special Distress Crackle Paint is formulated to dry quickly and gives a varied look depending on the thickness of the paint application.  Apply a medium coat for fine cracks and a heavier coat for larger cracks.  You will have to experiment a little to see what effect you like and how much paint to use to achieve your favorite look.   You can also use your Distress Inks to accent the cracked surface even further.

11/12/07- My Personal Testimony--I found a small notebook at the 2nd hand store that begged to be colored.  It had a light kraft cover on the front that was plain.  I broke open a bottle of the distress inks and painted the front cover.  I followed the directions (simple) and I loved the finished product.  It worked just as it was supposed to.  It cracked very good!  For thicker, globbier areas, it cracked larger and you can speed it up when it dries by using a heat gun.  I liked the product a lot!  I would put a picture up of the book, but it would have to be very large to see the cracks good- and you know they take longer to load.  I further embellished the cover with a stamp I had embossed and painted with the Asian watercolors and it looks pretty nice- even if I do say so myself, ha ha.

Check the sample out at the bottom of the page using the Distress Crackle Paints and brass stencils.

One day while I was playing with the Golden gels and mediums and brass stancils, I found a really cool way to use the Distress Crackle Paints.  I took a palette knife and scraped the paint from the brush inside the jar, I then spread it across my brass stencil--it was great!  It crackled so nice.  I like the brass stencils but haven't really used them alot but now...a really cool medium to use with them-they sky's the limit.   This was a stencil I bought at a rubber stamp convention and is a Dream Weaver's stencil.  Although you can't really tell from the picture, the birds are wondrfully crackled in black soot crackle paint.
The picture below also uses a Dream Weaver's Stencil.  I l-o-v-e the dragon, he is big and bold and very intricate.  I used the fired brick distress crackle paint on him and is so cool because he looks very dragony and scaly.  All he needs is a little gold stickles on his eyes.
So get out your brass stencils and look at them in a new way!
